Key Person

Your child’s key person:

•Is your main point of contact within the setting

•Helps your child to become settled, happy and safe

•Is responsible for your child’s care, development and learning

•Takes a careful note of your child’s progress, sharing this with you and giving you ideas as to how to help your child at home

The purpose of the Key Person is to build up strong relationships with both your child and yourself.  It is important you feel comfortable exchanging information and discussing things with your Key Person that will benefit your child.  Each child is allocated a Key Person when they join the nursery. If your child is under the age of three we do this before your child starts so that we can begin to build a strong one-to-one relationship with you and your child from your very first settling-in visit.  The Key Person for children over the age of three will be chosen once your child has completed their settling-in visits. This is so we can see who your child is naturally drawn to - rather a case of them choosing their Key Person rather than us!

Healthy Eating

Meal times are very important to us.  All our food is freshly prepared each day in our kitchen by our qualified cook making the most of fresh, local seasonal produce. Our menus are designed to be healthy, nutritious and balanced and can be adapted to suit individual dietary requirements . We also provide healthy snacks mid-morning and mid- afternoon. We offer a choice of milk and water at snack times with fresh drinking water available at all times.

Our children enjoy regular cooking activities lead by our cook and nursery staff, and grow their own vegetables in our garden.
